Friends of Hertingfordbury Cowper

While the school has been closed there was the opportunity to erect the Trim Trail. The Friends contributed £3000 towards this. Thank you to all the parents who have supported and helped at The Friends activities. Something tangible to show for your efforts.

FIREWORK BONANZA 2020

2020 Fireworks will be on

Wednesday 4th November

The 2019 Firework Bonanza evening repeated the success of 2018 with 499 people turning up which is our legal limit. Fortunately nobody was turned away.
The limited number of tickets available on the night which was less than 50 demonstrated the importance of buying tickets beforehand. Thank you to all of you who took advantage of the Early Bird offer as this makes administration so much easier and with the high number involved gave us confidence that the night would be successful.

The weather forecast seemed to change every hour but we were lucky that in the most part the evening was dry. Unfortunately the early rain and it's showery nature led us to the decision to cancel candy floss sales. Candy floss disappears once wet, sorry kids. However, there were plenty of food, sweets and treats available so we are sure nobody went short.

We will probably Firework Crazy again next year as the display was outstanding and worth the extra money paid. The gate money covered the cost of the display so money raised for the children was made on the stalls. We are very grateful to all those who helped with setting up, manning the stalls, marshalling and clearing up both on the night and the following morning. Friends events would not take place if it wasn't for volunteers.

More later when the accounts are settled.
