A very warm welcome to Hertingfordbury Cowper C of E (VA) Primary School.

Hertingfordbury Cowper C of E (VA) Primary School is a one form entry, nursery and primary school situated between Hertford and Welwyn Garden City in the village of Birch Green.  Our buildings are surrounded by beautiful grounds including our play areas, school field, a woodland area, swimming pool which in themselves provide an exciting learning environment for the children. 

As a church school, we are part of the St. Alban’s Diocese and we work together to share God's love with one another and our community.  Our Christian Vision - 'Rooted in Jesus, growing in wisdom, overflowing with thankfulness' (Colossians 2:7) underpins our Christian ethos, values  and all that we do here at Hertingfordbury.  Everyone who works here will strive to ensure that your child’s educational, social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs are met, developed and celebrated as fully as possible.  

From Early Years through to Year 6, we create rich learning experiences and a stimulating learning environment through our broad curriculum, whilst developing both a love of learning and a confidence that will equip children to take on new challenges in our ever-changing world.  We have a strong music tradition where every child learns to play a musical instrument, and we give opportunities to play in our orchestra and join our choir.  We encourage children to lead a fit and healthy life through a wide and varied range of physical activities both in and out of school time and participate in the many sporting competitions and festivals through our local school sport partnership.
