At Hertingfordbury Cowper C of E (VA) Primary School, we provide the children with an engaging and varied computing curriculum. The curriculum itself is derived from the National Curriculum outcomes. The outcomes have been broken down into year groups rather than key stages in order to pitch the learning at the right level and to enable smooth progression and transition year on year. This allows gaps in learning to be addressed more promptly and efficiently, as well as ensuring all children are meeting their full potential.

To support the teaching and learning of computing we have access to a clear and detailed scheme, ‘Purple Mash’.  At Hertingfordbury, the children have assess to new, purposeful devices which give them opportunities to meet specific outcomes successfully. Our computing curriculum teaches skills that will support the children today, tomorrow and in their future learning. Each lesson guides the children to problem solve and explore online safety both on and off screen.

Our intent is to equip the children of Hertingfordbury with the skills, knowledge and understanding to become learners for the future.
