Oak - Reception

Academic Year 2020-2021

This week we have enjoyed learning about the Easter story from the Bible. We used Drama and Art to help us retell the story.

As a special treat, we ended the week by making Easter chocolate nests and having an Easter Egg hunt.

In our topic called ‘What Happens When I am Sleeping?’ we explored light sources and learnt about shadows. We enjoyed drawing around our friends shadows and the shadows that were created by the toy animals.

This week, we have enjoyed learning about the soldiers in the war and the significance of wearing poppies. We have explored many different ways to make poppies from using tissue paper and water colours to loose parts and play dough. We also decorated some yummy biscuits! We joined the rest of the school in a Remembrance service where we each laid a decorated pebble. In class, we create our own prayers to thank the soldiers for everything they did for our country.
